Gta v

I thought this game deserved a topic of its own. Personally I enjoyed GTA IV and I'm looking forward to GTA V, not the least thanks to my personal liking of open world games and driving games, (yes I like driving more then racing actually).

I'm aware GTA VI was poorly received on pc due to poor porting, hence I placed this topic in the console section, on which it worked pretty much flawless. The only dislike I had towards VI was that you couldn't put a trailer behind your truck. Other then that I liked the game, especially playing freemode in multiplayer, something I spent close to 300 hours on in total, mainly playing follow the leader, driving truck convoys and doing makeshift police chases.

Now onto GTA V...
As you may know the news and info was pretty scarce after the release of the trailer 9 months ago:

Then all we got in many months were two measly screenshots:

Then after many months of silence and denied rumors a viral site, as GTA IV had many of, popped up: http://www.epsilonprogram.com/

I can tell you, 9 months with just a single trailer, two screenshots and a viral site with incredibly annoying background music is a long time with very little info.
But past week things changed. Rockstar has released 3 batches of screenshots in the past week, and here they all are:

Yep, that's a whole lot of screens and a whole lot to like. Personally I like the improved look of the natural surroundings, and it seems theres a lot more transport choices available compared to VI; planes, jets, bicycles, jetskis, parasailing, and lets not forget the 18-wheeler from the trailer (yay).

It's great to see so many screens in such a short time, and I hope that the burst of news means that the still unknown releasedate might be closer then we suspect. I'm looking forward to more, and will try to keep you updated on any more news I come across ...
(rockstars promises more news in a couple of weeks)

Can't wait for this, loved the direction that IV took compared to previous instalments, I hope that trend is continued.

Hmm, nearly tries the demo Mondo but it looked shakey... you rate it?

I really enjoyed GTA IV multiplayer, cops and robbers when done with friends and free roam was just such a laugh, I wish more people had gotten into it but CoD and to a lesser extent BF had already gotten their hooks in by that point unfortunately... These screenshots look almost too good to be true o_O Thanks for taking the time to post 'em up Shilka :icon_cool:

Sleeping dogs isnt as polished as gta ever is but its fun, the fighting and gun play is what you expect from what is basically a tribute to the 80's and 90's hong Kong crime films.

It's worth the 35 quid.

My PC had a lot of trouble running GTA1V in all but medium details which just didn't do the game justice. I really hope that GTAV is a bit better optimized to allow us to at least see it's vibrancy close up although my new PC should handle it fine.

I spent over 100 hours in GTA1V just getting into trouble. Campaign aside, I just loved pulling up to a busy Gas Station and blowing up the pumps. I also loved pulling up to a cop at a stop light and putting a bullet in his head, epic fun!

...even picking up a hooker only to shoot her and take my money back was always good for a cheap laugh.

I spent more time driving around, jumping, stealing and causing mayhem than actually completing objectives because it just never seemed to get old.

Oh and btw, a firetruck + police is absolutely hysterical.

Max Payne 3 is absolutely awesome but it is extremely difficult and can be frustrating in some areas.

That being said, it's about as close to playing in a major motion picture that I've been in probably ever. I think gameplay and visuals took a major role in this game though because the story while good and shocking in some areas just isn't as good as the original Max Payne.

Of course I'd recommend the game to anyone who's a fan of the franchise.

This game is on the top of my to-buy list together with SimCity. I just hope it will be a proper PC-game and not some cheap-ass port.

Thanks for the nice post Shilka, the screenies look amazing.

I'm a GTA freak. IV was the first time I bought it for console because the wait for PC was killing me. NEVER again. I will be strong .. and wait .......... ok, maybe I'll just rent it, get irriated with the clunky controls and then wait for PC.

Appearantly future shop is giving you a $20 discount towards GTA V if you buy Max payne 3. Nothing special, except for some dates being mentioned that the offer is valid. February release would be nice. No official info, but some gossip is always nice to keep the mood up :)
