Currently the big update weve been waiting for seems to be happening. Server maintenance has already lasted for 10 hours now...

-Wearing raincoat and gorkas now prevents you from soaking from rain

-Player gets wet even when only partially submerged in water

-Balaclava mask can get wet

-7.62x39 cartridges have weight
-Rags and sticks are spent when they are in hand before crafting starts
-Allowed swing detection for most melee weapons
-Added sound, music, radio and speech fade in dead state
-Battery licking animation for check battery action
-Various desync issues
-Various server performance issues
-Player can no longer change weapon when in water
-Player collisions adjusted to reduce clipping through walls in various situations
-Fixed an issue where certain gestures would not get called from raised stance
-Fixed footstep sounds in various moves
-Fixed an issue where the player could fall to the ground after performing "Drink All" action
-Fixed an issue where on occasion, one player restraining another would not result in succesful restrained animation on the player being restrained
-Fixed an issue where the player entering water would not get disarmed automatically under certain circumstances

Issues :

-Persistence (Events do not get loaded properly after server restart)
-Persistence (Server state can become corrupted due to grenades stored in containers)
-Melee (When using rapid left click there is a high chance that melee weapon will get switched)
-Broken shadows in some cases
-Zombies are unable to get into some of the buildings.
-Events (bad positioning on spawn, items might spawn below ground, can be seen on inventory screen)

About the persistence, this got added to the standup notes today:

As 0.49 rolls out to stable branch today, the most obvious change with this update (aside from the stable hive purge) is the move of the initial persistence feature for rented DayZ servers to an opt-in selection with each game server provider. Given that consumer data, and player storage is such a valuable and key feature to DayZ, and still very early we want to ensure that the system is a physical choice each game server administrator makes. While this system is refined, each game server provider operates a last known good fail-safe for servers opting in to persistence that will restore the storage from the last successful startup in the event of any unforeseen failure. Moving forward into 0.50, we intend to move persistence from this opt in system to all stable branch servers.

Ghaa YESS !!! most annoying bug . EVER! Hope the fix gets implemented soon ....
If you mean melee weapon switching to screwdriver suddenly and that sort of stuff; it's mainly caused by repeatedly leftclicking quickly. Instead, holding left mouse button will also repeat attacks, but not lead to unintentional weapon switching, so might have to do that untill it gets fixed :)

nah i mean , when you are having a fight with a zombie and you are chopping away with your axe (because u just spawned and dont have a long range weapon yet) and in the middle of the fight all of a sudden your character stops moving to switch to the next item on your hotbar , that bug ;) .

It's great their continuing development on this game but it's been a while now and we still have no vehicles whatsoever which is getting a bit old.

Geebus, even if they just start with scrounging for bicycle parts that would be sufficient enough.
