"Thicc Boi" Out of the WEC after Le Mans

BMW has been very non-commital to the WEC after the 2018-2019 WEC Super Season, but the German manufacturer announced Wednesday that they are officially pulling their WEC entry after the Super Season finale, the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans.

They say they will continue to compete in the North American IMSA series through the 2019 season, but it's unclear if they have, or will, commit to the continental series beyond the end of the 2019 season.

Kind of saw this coming when BMW wasn't winning races at a regular clip. They've never been a company to pour money in to a racing venture to create a winner. Oh well, we've got it in iRacing at least, so the Big Boi lives on.

Just wanted to correct some misinformation, lies, and slander being spread by spread by @Brainling about the BMW M8.

"They've never won a race..."

False - The BMW has 3 race wins to it's credit, in 15 starts in the IMSA series.

"...BMW wasn't winning races at a regular clip...."

False - The BMW took two of those wins in the last three races of the 2018 season (back-to-back victories at Virginia International Raceway and Laguna Seca), and then won the 2019 season opening Rolex 24h at Daytona. That is three wins in four starts.
