PS4 recorded gameplay on PC

Hi all,

A buddy of mine is loaning me his PS4 over the Holidays so I can play through The Last of Us and the Left Behind DLC in glorious 1080p.

I'd love to get this up on our YouTube even though I know it's likely noone will ever watch it except me, it's more just for posterity.

What I need for this to happen though is I need to get these files over to PC and there is no method for maintaining quality in doing so aside from using a capture card.

I don't want to spend a lot on a capture card because I'll probably not use it too much so my question is, do you guys have a suggestion on what I should go with?

I need to order it asap so I'll have it in time for the Holidays.

Also, I'll probably experiment with the upload to Facebook and dl from KeepVid option I've seen but I have my doubts the quality will remain untouched, we'll see.

Sorry mate I know that on Xbox One you can twitch directly? Is there no option to do that on the PS4?

To my knowledge there isn't currently but there should be something in the future.

The thing is though that it's in 1080p and I can't stream above 720p (due to ISP bandwidth limitations) so I was hoping to put it on YouTube instead.

...any excuse to improve on my sh1t3 commentary is a good excuse lol.

I'm probably going to buy an egg timer as well because apparently I can only upload in 15 minute chunks so I'll need this thing to warn me when it's time to stop and start recording continually.

Assuming this is the case, I may just have to scratch my idea of putting this up on YouTube which sux.

I think it's an insult to call The Last of Us a game so I will forever now refer to it as art because it is truly magnificent.

I'm going to savor the art very much this time around so I'll be picking away at it rather than spending exorbitant amounts of time in sessions. I expect it will take me 3 weeks or more to get through it this time so that should mean that iRacing isn't affected too much.

...however, there is the site re-branding soft launch in the first week of January and that may affect everything including iRacing and The Last of Us.

Well I'm dropping at least until Interlagos (though I may buy barber - neither of which I don't own) so I'm going to be pretty bored until then, myself. V8 is pretty damn difficult, not to mention the worst tracks to learn on, with Oran and now Summit I think next week.

Plus, the times I enjoy racing the most, late night, seems to be terrible for V8SC, despite that I thought it would not be for Aus time. I've tried 3 times the past two days to just jump in a race and just race... not been able to get more than 3. (There are official races running with at least 16 racers but only at 1600 GMT or around there) There's always the weekend but it is always a toss up for me.

Not to run on, but the fiance will be out of town for a full week after christmas, so I may just pick up barber and run it considering I will have a TON of free time. Got a good amount of time off... wed, thurs, fri both next week and the week after. Blows its at barber, I must say the first half of this absolutely succccks.

You know you may want to consider The Ruf Cup because the racing there is pretty damn good. When licensing up, The Ruf Cup was one of my favorite series and that's coming from a guy who bought iRacing for CTS-VR.

It's a tricky car to drive but very satisfying when you get it right. I know you don't like the interior of the car but if you can get past that you may just enjoy yourself.

I will do at least one season this year where a number of races are in The Ruf Cup because I actually miss racing there.
