My Audi A4 B7

I posted a little while ago about my new Audi. Well I thought I'd go more in-depth with it, what I've done, what I'm going to do, what I dream of doing... maybe get some car talk going from some fellow car enthusiasts. Let me know what you think!

I actually bought this off my mom, she upgraded to a Mercedes after having two different Audis the past ten ish years. This being a 2005.5 Brilliant Red 6-Speed 2.0T B7 A4. Of course my mom's style is completely bone stock, and her driving style very light, it's been well taken care of. I got it at 102k miles, it's had a few things fixed / replaced... including I believe a turbo that went for whatever reason and was redone on warranty...

Anyway the fun stuff... I listed things I'm doing near future / far future as separate... I have a wedding coming up so I'm only spending small amounts on it.

What I've done:

  • Forge BOV Spacer
  • Redo Lighting (Euro headlights)
  • HID conversion
  • Smoked Tails (though will probably need to be redone)
  • Plastidipped Rims Black
  • Lowering Springs (Tein- 1.5" Front, 1.1" Rear)

Near Future

Far Future

  • Magnaflow Exhaust... check out what it sounds like here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PATcOTCiDk
  • JHM Intercooler
  • LED B8-inspired tails
  • Maybe new headlights?
  • Internal Upgrades & Chip

Who knows when... but I want it!

  • Better turbo
  • RS facelift or DTM

Sounds like you've got a lot planned there mate, it's a nice looking Audi that's for sure. Love the colour. Keep us updated if you do any work, I love my cars so always good to read about this stuff :)

Any vids of the BOV sound? ;)

This is definitely something I'd like to see you try with the BOV, I didn't fancy trying it on my Evo when I had it lol

These are a few of my whips from the last 7 years...

My two Twin Turbo 300ZX's... Loved these two cars. Turned heads wherever we went. Lot of engine tuning made these two extremely rapid :icon_twisted:

Oh my god that video. Wow. Thanks though Little P. You never told me if you ever got that Avant?

Audis aren't necessarily meant to run full blow off valves. This is just a sort of spacer that blocks most of the air from recirculating, which is what usually happens after you lift off. It lets enough recirculate but vents most of it. So it isn't a big fancy valve like that.

I will try and put together a quick video, though I must say it sounds a lot more impressive while driving rather than just sitting and running. Which makes it difficult to record.

I do plan to do the K&N Air filter which should further add to the turbo sounds. I did the lighting yesterday and it went perfectly. You euros probably don't know, but for some dumb reason (i'm not sure if its law, or just default) cars here in NA always have the amber turn signal bulbs on when the lights are on. Makes for some hideous headlights.

So those stupid things WERE always on. But now I reprogrammed it wonderous Euro mode and now those stupid things aren't.

Oh I didn't know that, well done on making the car personal to you :) I certainly had my fair share of modifying over the years... none of the cars in these pics I'm putting up were anywhere near stock hehe ;)

My fully refurbished ST220... spent a lot getting it back to concours standard.
Very clean. I like the look. Not stock not crazy over the top either. Tails are pretty cool too. Whats up with the weird mod that you did that put the steering on the right side of the vehicle???

My Jap import Evo IV. Heavily modified with a lot of parts fitted from later Evo's, this thing was scary fast off the line and handled like it was on rails. A full power stop used to make people feel physically sick too lol Pure road legal race car this was.

My two crotch rockets. Ridiculous speed, absolutely mental. Both modified, the Thundercat extensively so. Used to race the planes down the runway GTA style hehe (good friends with the aerodrome owner)

And to answer your question on I've leaned away from the Avant now and am looking at a couple of options right now. Either a high spec Civic or a BMW 3/5 series. My days of rocket ships as daily drivers are over now, so I'll be getting a nice sensible daily and later on I'll be picking up a track car for the odd blast round Brands Hatch and Silverstone :) That will be in a couple of years though I reckon.

That looks really awesome!

Did you apply the plasti dip yourself?
If so how did it feel? Anything like regular spraypainting at all?

I'm planning on plasti dipping my entire car after next summer, i wonder if the pearlescent white is any good if you do it yourself.

What else can we expect now you've witnessed the ease of plasti dip :p

It is pretty simple. Just a few tips will keep it looking good, which apply to spray painting also. Doing it slowly in layers will give you the best results. Otherwise you'll cake it on too much. applying evenly and slowly as you go is the key.

I'm hesitant about you painting the entire car. The issue is that you can't wash the spots, so smudges and everything can't be fixed on a large scale. My friend did his hood and it looks good but when the light catches it you see the imperfections, smudges, and prints.

I hope to dip the other chrome parts, like the trim around the doors, the front and rear, and the logo on the back. So far so good!

Just went and picked this up today... I needed something small, economical but with a little sting in it's tail, this fit the bill perfectly. It's a 1.6 Turbo, 180BHP / 230Nm Torque. It really does shift, especially in sport mode :icon_cool:

My new little pocket rocket, 1 of only 78 produced, so a rare car, which I like :)

Love it! Never heard of that car, probably for obvious reasons, but it really looks nice. I love the wheels, too. Looks like something you could really use to put DiRT Rally skills to use.

On a similar note, being the nerd I am, I contacted Audi of America to find out production numbers for my car. For my year, they only made like 157 Brilliant Red with Black interior. :D I wanted more specific numbers but I couldn't get em, maybe I can bug them again.

Any plans for it?
