It's week 13 so may as well do something productive with iRacing lol.

Who's in and what track would you like to run?

My votes in order of importance:
  1. Mid Ohio (naturally)
  2. VIR (naturally x 2)
  3. Brands Hatch
  4. Lime Rock Park

Please share the Tracks you'd most like to see and we'll pick the most popular.

Let's try to fill the grid as much as possible this week.

We are running Mid-Ohio next week (Week 1) so I say we do something fun (NOT MIDOHIO!) and different. Along with the fact that we have the NSM, I'd like to see shorter tracks to try it out on. Summit Point or Donington National. Daytona Road would be interesting.

You know my vote goes to Long Beach though overall. It's a 5 dollar track and it's fun as hell. Would be an interested one with the NSM as well.

Mid Ohio is FUN dumbass.

...just because you don't like it :icon_rolleyes:

I don't think you're going to see a lot of votes for Long Beach because nobody has it and it takes forever to acclimate to; it's a tough track.

Ahhhh it's 50/50 if I will be able to make this one as well. However my vote would be something silly like Suzuka Short.

Oh yeah Mid-Ohio is such an easy track to pick up, too. Its five bucks. Gemme a break... you can earn double that each season in participation credits...

I like the idea of Suzuka short!

We are running Midohio and barber in the next two weeks. Why run them this week too?

Good Lord, lighten up man, jeebus.

You and I are the only two who own Long Beach and I'm not asking anyone to buy it. After running the track you honestly cannot say it's as easy to pick up as Mid Ohio, seriously.

You already voiced your vote so we'll go with what the masses want.

I own long beach, and so does El Jeffe :)

Anyway, LRP and Brands Hatch would be my split vote.

After running the track, I can and do say it is easier than Mid-Ohio, in my opinion. Just didn't appreciate your comment before.

Okayama short would be awesome, too.

I'm in, good opportunity to test out the dynamic track surface in a league setting (see if it matters in a short qualify race for example, and which starting settings are best to use).

My votes are:
1. Mount Panorama (any configuration is fine :) )
2. Sebring full
3. Brands Hatch - GP
4. Zandvoort - GP

If many people want to do Long Beach I'll happily pick it up too.

lol I just knew you'd want Mount Panorama.

You mention it as much as I do Mid Ohio and VIR.

By my count we have 2 for Brands Hatch and 2 for Long Beach.

Voting for the track we are most comfortable with as a team. Something familiar would be best to really seek the difference with dynamic tracks. I'm in favor of Lime Rock, Watkins boot, Laguna. Never turned a lap at brands hatch don't even think i have the track but always subject to chance with my peer pressure buddies.

No idea, nothing clear came from this post so we'll just wing it when we get on and come to a decision then.

It doesn't look like we're going to have a big crowd though so it would be nice to run something small that keeps us closer together.

There were a few of us in TS last night pondering what track to run. Given the uncertainty behind grid size it was thought a small, familiar track would suit this session best.

After some discussion we came to the conclusion that Summit Point Short would work well and boy did it not disappoint. It was an absolutely excellent venue for a smaller grid, fast, technical and intimate.

Great racing with you guys last night. It was one of the best sessions I've been in to date.

@ Davey, this is probably the first time I've had someone on my bumper for that many laps. I think between the Qualify Race and the Official Race, we must have been on each others bumper for close to 30 laps.

I also figured out what I did wrong on the Grid last night so hopefully I can have that sorted for the next race.

Oh and now I have the Pace Car every time, yay!

Good win Noel!

Structural Changes to Race Format as follows:

Qualify Race: (Session 1)

  • Qualify Race now 20 minutes. This allows the fast guys to move higher up in the field.
  • Session Type: Open Practice + Race
  • Fuel load 50%
  • Track Conditions: Automatically clean marbles (OFF)
  • Track State: Open Practice -> Low Usage 20%
  • Track State: Race -> Carry over track state from previous session.
  • League Session Grid Builder: Load all League Drivers
  • Configure Grid Automatically: Inverted (discussion on this setting to follow in another thread)
  • Start Type: Rolling
  • 1 fast repair

Race: (Session 2)

A mandatory Pit Stop is required half way through the race within a 5 minute window (30 minute races) or 10 minute window (60 minute races). As we're still in the R&D Stages, all Drivers are expected to take 4 tires and full fuel.

Those who Pit outside this window will need to serve a drive through penalty.

  • Session Type: Open Practice + Race
  • Fuel load 30%
  • Track Conditions: Automatically clean marbles (OFF)
  • Track State: Open Practice -> Moderately Low Usage 40%
  • Track State: Race -> Carry over track state from previous session.
  • League Session Grid Builder: Load all Drivers from previous Session
  • Configure Grid Automatically: Sequential
  • Start Type: Rolling
  • 1 fast repair

The settings above will be published in a thread for discussion and alterations as required.
