How did you find Band of Others?

I'm a very proud member of Band of Others and feel privileged in considering many of you here friends.

I'm not just talking about the Members who've been here long enough to be considered furniture either. Over the past few years many new Members have graced us with their presence and desire to help make B2O a truly unique online Community experience.

As much as we know about some of you by your posts in this very forum, we really don't know much about what brought you here.

...so just out of curiosity, how did you find Band of Others?

Were you referred by a friend, found us through an Internet Search, Social Media or some other?

I honestly forget. I was sort of looking for an iracing community back when so I either found you guys on the iracing forums or lucked upon the b2o youtube channel as part of suggested videos and eventually worked my way to the forums from there.

Definitely via the youtube channel. there was a lot of content uploaded often and a good mix of races and funny / entertaining videos. I am not a twitch guy in the least so I watched a lot of iRacing youtube videos.

Nah I followed this group of reprobates after a mass exodus from a site that sold stress balls. I can't believe that it's been 14 years now since I met some of you here. Pretty crazy really. I think that's something quite unique, and in all seriousness I'm glad this place is here. A little "home" on the interwebz. Whether I've known someone 14 years or 14 hours we have some great people here and long may it continue.

That one time I streamed Dirt Rally! Glad to have you with us Jeeve.

I found B2O through Oval Racing right after I ended my hiatus from iRacing. Was racing in a league a couple nights a week where I ran against Marc and Windell. Windell didn't like to have non teammates faster then him so he invited me to join in on the teamspeak and It was like Hotel California. Check out anytime I like but I may never leave.

Very happy I stumbled upon this community, started many great friendships and you guys got me up to pace with Road Racing, which one year ago I never thought I'd be at the level I am now. Still crashing, just a lot faster impacts .

I saw a post on the iRacing forum written by Duke a couple of years ago. I believe it was the beginnings of Practice Pals and it got me interested. I then found the video regarding "If it's Purple it's Probably Broken" on what used to be the Fragtard YouTube channel and I wanted to witness that madness live .

He's been using a combination of reverse psychology and guilt on me to try and trick me into making certain allowances for him that I'd not make for anyone else.

I'd had enough of it and decided to turn the tables by adding a fair amount of guilt to how he was using our friendship to strong arm me into compromising my position.

I finally won but it was a hard fight, you know, he's Italian.

I took a left turn at Albuquerque. And happened upon Zac_Sonic's Twitch channel about a year or more ago. Which led to watching him and even the bandofothers channel (and a few others). I really like how they run their GT3 series/league and seemed like something I'd like to be a part of. I'm an oval guy at heart but have been wanting to become more competitive on the road side. I took a long break from Twitch and iRacing but for the past couple of months, I've been working on my road racing skills and think I'm ready to be a rolling chicane soon. And making fun of Ken in TS as well as subjecting myself to the same)
