Dedicated Server Hosts

Hello all,

I'm currently looking for a new host for my server(s) and am thinking of switching from Virtual servers to a full dedicated one.

Would any of you have any experience with a good host?
preferably in Europe.

I would need at least a quad core at around 3Ghz, 16Gb of RAM (but 32Gb preferred) and about 500Gb of storage on a fast HDD, or a bit less on an SSD.

Any tips are welcome.

cheers,
Produx

I used https://www.kimsufi.com to run a Minecraft/Mumble server for a bit. They were just a cheap affordable version of their main company OVH. But setup is very quick and automated and any issues I had were addressed very quickly.

Have you talked to Quick because I wonder if its something Xitens.nl can take care of?

Yes Duke, talked with him and his buddy and I'm moving my hosting there early December. ;-)

My current provider is/was TransIP and they seem to blatantly oversell their blades, the VPS I had was lagging on 30-35% of resources used. TransIP refused to move me to another blade so that was my reason for cancelling with them.

Xitens uses KVM virtualization which makes this impossible, so the full resources for the VPS will be available \o/

Cheers for the headsup Irondiggy, but when it comes to hosting something more "professional" I'd like to stay away from the cheap-ass hosts as there's always another way on how they make their money. Overselling resources on the blades is a big practise for these hosts.
It might not be a problem for a simple Minecraft/Voice comms server, but it will only be frustrations for when you're developing a massive multiplayer game ;-)

On top of that, the backbone of Xitens is just simply impressive:

I use OVH (directly) as well for the server/community I run over at http://reddit.com/r/rustfactions. They're not the best (support is infamous for being terrible), but pricing is reasonable ($80/month, 32GB of ram, i7-4790K) and it works for what I need.
