lol @ the last two posts

I finished it last night, absolutely brilliant. Enjoyed every second of the story. I'm now going back through and replaying some of my favourite moments to tackle them from a different angle and see what happens.

After that I'll be starting the "strangers and freaks" missions, I started one of Trevor's just to see what it was like and it was hilarious so I'll definitely be completing all of them if that one is anything to go by

Then I'll be going and investigating all the "points of interest" I marked all over the map. As I was tearing about in the story missions I marked down anything I saw that looked interesting for later so looking forward to going and poking around to see what I can find... man there's so much in this, amazing game :D

I'm already a leader of a crew (you can't be a leader of more than one according to the info Shilka posted up) so if we want a Fragtard one someone else will have to set one up, and I'll join that one too :)

Holy hell I already hate the Trevor missions as shooting with a gamepad sucks.

How the fuck do you aim without overcompensating? I use the lowest sensitivity and still can't aim worth a lick, I constantly move past my target - so much so that I had to skip part of the airfield mission (lying down part) to prevent rage after dying in 5 seconds for the 15th time.

Seriously - tips?

If you're using the assisted aim, let go of the left trigger, roughly aim at the next target and squeeze it again and it will snap on. If you have a group of targets close to eachother, keep left trigger squeezed, kill target and use right stick to left/right to switch to the next target and it will snap on that one.

Yeah, that's how I do it when assisted aiming works; however, this doesn't work when sniping or in the mission I'm talking about.

You finished it already?!! I spent the first 10 hours just driving around, did the first heist then drove around allot more getting distracted with all the stuff outside the main story. 20 hours in and I've just got Trevor and going through the rampages....and more driving around.

I need a crew BTW.

If were talking the same airport mission I'm thinking about, the sniping part was pretty slow (and I tend to zoom out to spot the next target and then zoom in again), and the second part you're free to just switch to a weapon of choice I think? Or perhaps you're doing a mission I haven't done yet...

I can look into making a fragtard crew if you want. Rockstar social club is an overloaded bunch atm though, I'll let you know once it's set up ;)

I'll be hooking up my seX-Box sometime in the next few days and giving this a go. I think it came with 3 months of free Live so hopefully I can redeem that still.

I made FRAGLARD. Because we're gamers so probably a bit chubby and lard is a funny word.

The crew is open if people want to join, can always do another one but it won't allow the word TARD at all. It does allow rimming however.

Can't join it, just gives me the privacy notification for some reason.

EDIT: I'm apparently in now.

Wait until 1st October to redeem it d00d, that's when GTA online launches. You probably already knew that but just in case you didn't :)

Well, I think you need live anyway to be able to upload pics and stats to social club anyway, I'll check for the crew now. Mondo, turn your always show as offline off buddy :p, Or is that to keep dev groupies at bay?

I know that mission of which you speak, I got through it first time, and it's not hard, so that really helps me understand the level of difficulty you are experiencing... it must be really frustrating.

I was going to suggest using the left stick to strafe into a target, but it's more the free aiming part you're struggling with isn't it.

I'm afraid the only advice I can give in this instance is practice makes perfect. I remember Duke had the same issues with the last of us on the ps3. And it really does work both ways, I really struggled getting back into using a mouse and a keyboard after so long on a controller, but I just kept going even though it felt so weird, and bizarrely I was over compensating just like you are with a controller. But I didn't give up because the pay off is worth it to me.

At the end of the day you know if it's worth it or not, and you've just got to get used to using your opposable thumbs if you want to get more control over your controller.

The only other piece of advice I can give thinking about it, is remember the controller sticks are acceleration based, so whereas on a mouse you move the crosshair onscreen to where you want in an instant, a controller is doing some of the work for you, and you need to work with it not against it. I saw someone else doing this a while back who was a pc gamer first but wanted to play a bit of Rainbow Six Vegas when they released it for free on Xbox. He was all over the place and after I suggested they stop using the full range of motion in the Sticks (ie. stay away from the edges) they gradually got more control and were only using the edges when they needed to spin round quickly.

I'm really trying to help ya buddy because I understand how hard it must be but I think it may be a case of it taking a while to adjust :)

I have no idea what everyone's gamertag is now...

Maybe we should do a quick re-cap before the launch of GTA Online?

It's the part where Trevor is lying on the wing - there is no way to move the character, the plane moves though, and assisted aiming doesn't work.

The rest was doable, but staying away from edges sounds like an idea - but hard since my fingers are pretty numb.
