Awesome!

yeah, history tells us there will be a pc version, though I must say I've never seen rockstar so much in denial about it before. Did your account get banned yet btw, or was it already banned. All the guys I saw leak footage had their xbox accounts banned within the day according to their own saying. Seems rockstar is being very strict about it this time around, they aren't even allowing shops to open their delivery boxes before midnight releaseday.

I'll probably go to the midnight release, will be my first ever, curious at the public that will be there :)

I've actually considered getting a cheap Xbox Arcade just for this, but I could never play this with the controller alone.

This is where I'm glad I've had xboxes for 6 years + I'm comfortable using a controller and a keyboard/mouse. I prefer to play games on PC with a controller for anything other than shooters. Burnout Paradise and Rayman for example is great on a controller. To miss out on something because of the control method would be a shame for you JK.

Get yourself a cheap pre-owned Xbox and get on it ;)

I got an XBox controller for arcade racers & sportsgames. I even use it for driving in GTA. But I can't use it to walk, look, aim & shoot.

I tried playing Assassin's Creed with it - a game made for controller - and I just kept running into walls...

No ban here Shilka I dont play on xbox live I have several modded xboxs. I have one unmodded one I used for Live before I stopped paying for it late last year. Thus is why I'm never getting a Xbox One because I will never pay Microsoft a subscription again(big rip off). I was a subscriber since Xbox1 aswell when I just got fed up with there practices and empty promises. Got more value from my Playstation plus subscription in the year I had it than in the 7 years of Live.

Also in game they tell of an android companion app(ifruit i believe not 100%). That you can make customizations for cars and companions(I'll leave it at that) in game at http://www.rockstargames.com/V/download. Dont care because I play offline and wont be able to use it.

Found a gem today a tap dancing hillbilly, omfg hilarious. Not part of the story atleast not yet just found him in a random place of sorts tappin his heart out to country music.

That life Invader site is a pretty funny parody of facebook lol, and you get some nice rewards for "stalking" (liking) the businesses on there if you're a member of the Rockstar social club :icon_cool: Not long now! :D

First impression, wow. It's a huge place.
As soon as I got to free roam, I decided to drive around the island. 2 and a half hours later I was back in town. So much to see, and it's pretty easy to die too. It will take forever to get to know the map...

Absolutely epic is all I can say... It's 5am here and I'm forcing myself to go to bed, I could play on but going to get my head down. Everything bad from 4 is fixed and after 5 hours I haven't even scratched the surface! Pressing lb when in a convertible and unarmed took up about 2 of those hours lol but honestly I was the same NT as soon as I could free roam I just went exploring, there's so much to see and do already and I'm only on the 3rd mission! Got a strippers Cumberland got laid, flew a blimp into a mountain, got in several epic police chases, styled and profiled, flew a stunt plane inverted under bridges, got into a fight in the barber's shop with some gangbangers, got lost and ended up driving through miles of sewers trying to find my way out, complete with driving through tunnels and barrel rolling them, watched a movie, witnessed a murder and a robbery, base jumped the Hoover dam, cycled up a mountain, went diving, commandeered a police cruiser after they turned up at a fatal r.t.a and were distracted, and had a shootout in a gun shop. All unscripted and spontaneous. This game is amazing

Yeah I spent my first few hours driving trying to open the map up found some interesting stuff. I drove a car to the highest peak on too narrow of trails running down mountain lions and the like. Even now 30+ hrs in I havent been to more than half the map. Around every turn I find something new and awesome. But the good thing is every part feels different doesnt feel like everything looks the same after some time played you know atleast the area of the map you are in just from the visual style of buildings and road layouts. I'm gonna go get a heli tonight and really take a look around.

I wouldnt say its easy to die but if you are careless sure it is. I still havent died more than 5 or so times I have been near death on several missions but got lucky I guess and survived. Also I havent done much rampaging and getting high wanted levels outside of the story. I had a few missions I had to retry a bunch of times like a race that I accidental started in a old camero vs supped up cars had to redo it like 20 times, was in the lead many of times to have some random traffic or fish tail loose it for me. But I did get to know that race path very well as a result, unwelcomed result.

Word of advice to all dont skimp on your crew for heists you'll loose more money than you save.

Do not play from the hard drive use the dvd for disk2. I just read an article that you will have texture popping and loading issues if you install both disks to the hard drive and dont use the DVD as a source. This has happened to me I noticed this right away after the pro-log mission where it pans cinematically around the area I was getting alot of slow popping textures. They say its because the game was designed to use the available bandwidth of both the hard drive and DVD. Thus only using the hard drive causes this, I can absolutely confirm it to be true. Although that one instance is the only real place I definitely noticed it. I really hope its something they can correct with a patch because it would be a definite issue on the digital only versions.

Yeah, rockstar strongy urges to not install the play disc.

All I can say is my experience was similar. Offroading is awesome, and yes, I didn't die during missions at all. Freeroaming however is a different story. I drove into a research complex in a VW van, and got my ass handed to me quick with the resulting 4 star wanted level, lol. I fell off a cliff twice while admiring the scenery, which is much more deadly then in IV. Hitting a barrier head-on and flying through the windscreen is much more deadly too.

The gunning is extremely improved and a lot more fun now. The driving takes some getting used to, you have much more control at lower speeds, cars are much more grippy. But at high speed the handbrake turns and handling are great and old fashionedly fun.
Cops are harder and easier at the same time. They seem smarter this time around, and do a good job of blocking and evade dangers better. However them having vision cones instead of that circle you needed to escape makes escaping easier at times, and going offroad or hiding in alleyways can get you out of a tight spot.

I must say, the sounds are just AWESOME. I can't stress enough how much better the game sounds. The sounds of cars whizzing by, your engineblock cooling off after you leave the car, the ambient sounds, the sounds of different road and offroad surfaces as you drive or walk on them, the wide array of music channels (and a soulmusic channel f yeah!), the gun sounds, the mechanical sounds of industrial activity, it's all extremely well done.
You can also feel the handling change on each surface, and the difference in handling and speed and feel of weight between the different cars is much clearer and evident.
The range of different vehicles is enormous, and the AI driven cars also have tune ups at times, so even the same brand and type of cars differ. Some regular cars have a tow bar which can be used, I even picked up some farm equipment with a car, there's tractor-trailers, tractors, bikes, cars ranging from 60's to now, and from golfcarts upto the huge minetruck.

The natural terrain looks awesome, the city is great too, and roads have a lot more room in the city, and the road crossings are realistic.

As P, I barely have scratched the surface when it comes to activities you can do.
It's awesome!

A buddy of mine just offered me a brand new X-Box for nothing. It's only been used once for a few hours and has spent the remainder of the time back in the box. This is the same guy that loaned me the PS3 to play The Last of Us.

...needless to say, that's pretty frickin' awesome of the guy, THANKS KYLE!!!

So, it looks as if I'll be joining your guys world sometime in the next few days or so.

Dammit, is everyone getting this on Xbox? I per-purchased it for playstation. I'm betting I could switch it at the store, but my son doesn't play on his xbox anymore and is thinking about getting rid or it. Not sure I'm willing to sign up for "Live" either. Bastards.
