Elite: Dangerous Thursdays

Both Marc and myself have committed Thursday nights to Elite: Dangerous.

I've just upgraded my Internet so look for us to be Live Streaming its entirety on B2O Twitch.

This is a bit of an odd way to start off however as Marc is working overtime this week and I may be tonight as well. If not I'll be online as soon as I get home.

Game time typically starts around 8 PM EST.

You guys still playing on Thurs?I wasn't able to get on this past Thursday but I've been playing a lot lately. I've been working for the Zachary Hudson faction and I've made it up to the 4th rank which is 5mil a week. I think there are pretty easy ways to make money hauling for the factions as well. If you get to rank 5 with the faction you get 50mil a week.

I missed last Thursday but have been playing very regularly for the past month or so.

I'm also aligned with Zachary Hudson but only ever bothered to get up to Level 2 so far and it cost me 90,000 credits to get there. That's not including the ship repairs when I entered a rival factions territory and nearly got my ass shot off.

Right now I'm in a RES that pays between 500,000 - 1,000,000 credits every time I enter so I felt that was more lucrative than Power Play which took me a full night to reach the second rank (and only pays out 5000/week).

Hopefully you way is quicker because I found it too much boring work to invest the time/energy into.

Lastly, before I commit to anything though I need to try mining again. The system I'm in has Pristine Resources and there is no better way to get a feel for finite flying controls than mining.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it last Thursday, won't make it this Thursday, and, depending on my brother, may or may not make it next week as I'll be up at his house for the week (Conveniently iRacing's Week 13! Hooray for coincidences!).

Doesn't mean I'm gone...

If anyone is looking to get in Wing on Thursdays and make some decent coin then this is your best chance to do so.

We're to the point now where it's quite likely we may have multiple Wings in the same instance.

'sokay. we had a full wing of vultures. Anacondas were going down faster than a prom date.

There are new Extraction sites now. "Hazardous Extraction Points" have no system authority and larger, higher ranked ships. We watched a group of 3 Master Anacondas pick a fight with a wing of a Python and 2 Asp's. We wiped out the whole crowd. We literally pulled in about 4Mil in about 1.5 hours of RES time.

Do you know if we can get 2 wings into the same instance?

My guess is we'd all jump into Whakov and then Wing up one at a time just to make sure all 8 of us are in. Once we're all in the same instance we can create 2 separate Wings, no?

looks like we can have 4 per wing. and i read elsewhere that you can only have 32 people on your sensors at one time, including friends/wingmates/and AI ships. it is still debatable on how bounties will be split tho if we have 2 wings in the same instance. as of right now with one wing, all members that participate in killing the wanted target get an equal portion of the bounty. we could always just get two wings together and all talk but each wing get their own res site. preferably hazardous because they are amazing with money making lol.

Marc I'm not sure what time I'll be on tonight? If I'm not on by around 8:00 PM EST then I won't be on at all.

Just so you know, Mining was a complete bust. When I said we needed to be in a System with Pristine Resources and a Planet with Metal Rich Rings I was only half right. In order to make decent money you need to be at a Planet with Metallic Rings and Pristine Resources.

Right now I think I'm Mining in LTT 15225 but even with selling my Shield Generator to gain more Cargo Space I only bring in between 50,000 - 100,000 Credits and that's if I'm lucky. It also takes a lot longer than Combat so currently there is no ROI whatsoever.

The ultimate combination is an Industrial Economy, Pristine Resources and Metallic Rings; this is what we need to find.

Oh but the limpits are awesome!!! The only issue with them is when you dump resources to clear your hopper they'll bring them right back to you even if they're abandoned.

I'm also getting disconnected frequently from the Servers when Mining which makes no sense because it happens at no other time. I've seen lag spikes do silly things to ships so my guess is that it is lag spikes that are disconnecting me in Mining, not sure though?

Given the above and what we discussed previously I propose the following:

We both want to eventually end up aligned with Aisling Duval but given she's about Propaganda I don't know that we have the insight into how to be profitable with her.

As we discussed earlier I propose we align with Arissa Lavigny-Duval as we'll start slowly learning about the Social aspects of the game all the while having the ability to revert to Combat.

Once we learn to be profitable with Diplomacy I suggest we defect to Aisling.

Now this will take us on quite a journey to be sure so in the meantime we can search the Galaxy for our own Mining System. I know a quick search on Google will yield plenty of places to go but I'd much rather find one ingame rather than via Google.

I'm sure this will take us months to accomplish particular with Horizons landing this Holiday Season.

BTW, if we Wing up and are in the same system we can explore the Galaxies quicker and share in the profits from Exploration Data.
